Build a 1:4 DEMUX from Two 1:2 DEMUXes

Data distribution networks and address decoders route a single source signal to multiple endpoints. The hierarchical demultiplexer expands a single data stream into distinct paths by cascading smaller routing elements.

Route the input D to one of four outputs based on the two-bit select bus formed by S1 (MSB) and S0 (LSB). All unselected outputs must remain driven to 0.

Constraints

  • Construct the two-level hierarchy using exactly three 1:2 DEMUX components.
  • Do not use any basic logic gates like AND, OR, or NOT.
  • Combinational logic only.
