Four-Bit Bus Multiplexer

Every datapath is full of forks: two 4-bit values arrive, one control bit decides which continues. Doing this with four scalar 2:1 muxes works, but the bus multiplexer says what you mean — one component, one select, whole operands.

Build a circuit that routes one of two 4-bit buses to the output:

Y = SEL ? B : A

When SEL = 0 the output follows A; when SEL = 1 it follows B.

Constraints

  • Use the Bus MUX 2:1 component from the Buses palette group.
  • A, B, and Y are pre-placed at 4-bit width — connect them as buses.
