4:2 Encoder

Interrupt controllers and bus arbiters rely on translating individual active request lines into a compact binary representation. The standard 4:2 encoder performs this compression when only one input line is active at a time.

The circuit takes four mutually exclusive input lines and produces a 2-bit binary output corresponding to the index of the active input.
