Out of Bounds Array Indexing

A combinational lookup table maps a 2-bit array index to a specific 2-bit configuration value. Hardware synthesis of an undersized array often results in out-of-bounds reads silently returning zero.

Expected behavior:

Simulation shows Y1 = 0 and Y0 = 0 for input Idx1 = 1, Idx0 = 1. The highest index combination returns an invalid zero value. Inspect the circuit and correct the fault.

Constraints

  • Only standard combinational logic gates are allowed.
  • Do not add new input or output ports.
