Ripple Counter CLR Timing Waveform

MediumLogic CircuitTiming Diagram

A 4-bit up-counter increments its value on every positive edge of CLK and resets all outputs to 0 immediately when the asynchronous active-low CLR_bar is asserted. Six signals are shown: CLK (clock, period 2), CLR_bar (active-low input), and outputs Q3, Q2, Q1, Q0. The counter initially holds the decimal value 10 (binary 1010). Trace the four output signals across all 12 time steps.

Constraints

  • Outputs must reflect the asynchronous clear immediately at the time step it is asserted.
  • The counter only increments on the positive edge of CLK when CLR_bar is high.

Solve this problem

Place the gates, wire them up and watch the signals settle. Every submission runs on the same simulation engine that grades it.
